This Privacy Policy describes how Dish2Basket ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our Chrome extension ("the Extension").

Data Collection and Usage

The Extension collects the following types of information:

• User Activity: We collect dish descriptions that you enter into the Extension and track user interactions with the Extension interface when searching for products on supermarket websites.
• Website Content: The Extension reads and interacts with content from supported supermarket websites (only when you're actively using the Extension) to search for products and display search results. The Extension uses content scripts that are automatically injected on supported supermarket domains when you visit them.
• User Preferences: We store your preferences and settings locally to improve your experience with the Extension.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Process dish descriptions to extract ingredients using AI services
• Search for products on supported supermarket websites when you click "Find" buttons
• Improve the Extension's functionality and user experience
• Save your preferences for future sessions

Data Sharing

We share information as follows:

• Dish descriptions are sent to our backend servers for processing
• Our backend utilizes AI services (such as OpenAI/ChatGPT API or Anthropic's Claude API) to analyze dish descriptions and extract ingredients
• We do not sell or share your data with other third parties beyond what is necessary to provide the Extension's functionality

Data Storage

Information is stored as follows:

• User preferences are stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API
• We may cache processing results temporarily to improve performance
• No personal identification information is collected or stored
• We retain processing data for a maximum of 30 days before it is automatically deleted

Third-Party Services

The Extension uses the following third-party services:

• AI services (OpenAI/ChatGPT or Anthropic's Claude) for natural language processing
• These services process dish descriptions solely to extract ingredients
• SupermarktConnector library to access product information from supported supermarkets (Albert Heijn, Jumbo, and Deka)
• Third-party service usage complies with their respective privacy policies

Browser Permissions

The Extension requires the following browser permissions:

• activeTab: Allows the Extension to detect which supermarket website you're currently visiting and provide contextual functionality.
• storage: Allows the Extension to store your preferences and settings locally in your browser.
• clipboardWrite: Allows the Extension to copy product names to your clipboard when you use the "Copy" functionality.
• scripting: Allows the Extension to inject content scripts programmatically only when you explicitly use the "Find" feature on supported supermarket websites. This permission is used to enable product search functionality without requiring broad host permissions.

The Extension uses programmatic content script injection that only occurs when you explicitly use the "Find" feature on supported supermarket websites (Albert Heijn, Jumbo, and Deka). Content scripts are not automatically injected and only operate when you actively use the Extension's functionality.

User Rights

As a user, you have the following rights:

• You can clear locally stored data through your browser settings
• You can contact us at support@itinc.dev for privacy concerns
• You may uninstall the Extension at any time to stop all data collection

Updates to Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will inform you by updating the "Last Updated" date below and may also provide more prominent notice as appropriate. Continued use of the Extension after policy updates constitutes acceptance of the changes.
